Available Positions
Executive Assistant
Performs administrative duties for executive management. Responsibilities may include screening calls, making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports and financial data, and customer relations. Requires strong computer and internet research skills. Also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years experience in administrative capacity. Superior writing skills to include preparing reports and contracts are required. Must have proficient computers skills. Excellent communication and analytical skills are necessary.
Outreach Specialist/Van Driver CFUF
Provide outreach and recruitment services for BSF program. Provide transportation services utilizing CFUF vans (maximum van size 15 passengers), for BSF program activities. Assist family coordinator staff in achievement of monthly recruitment goals.
Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Maryland Driver's License w/ no points. Must possess reliable personal transportation. 2 year experience in human services field in recruitment capacity a plus. Knowledge of requirements and standards related to the safe and efficient operation of light commercial vehicles is a plus. Knowledge of computer software applications. Knowledge of basic first-aid and/or CPR techniques. Must have pleasant outgoing demeanor.
Policy Research Analyst
The Policy Research Analyst must have a strong understanding of the various layers of social welfare, family and economic policy issues that impact low-income communities in Baltimore. A strong background and experience in policy research, development and advocacy are necessary. The analyst will work across Center for Urban Families (CFUF) projects, thus must have the facility to grasp a range of policy and research areas and draw out places of synergy. The analyst will be critical in moving our mission forward by providing policy and research analysis that supports CFUF's policy agenda, program development and public education and communication goals. The analyst will provide program support in the form of policy development, research, critical analysis, writing, knowledge management, project management, and strategic communications. The pace of work is fast, as the analyst will be expected to translate research and analysis into products for various audiences within a changing quarterly policy agenda that aims to influence national level discussion.
Qualifications: Demonstrate strong analytic and creative thinking—prior experience in using these skills in education policy work a plus. Qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills required. Must be passionate about family and social welfare issues, especially as they relate to education. Prior experience with planning and managing multiple projects. Must demonstrate strong writing skills and basic computer skills.
