In recent years advocates, researchers, and practitioners in the responsible fatherhood arena have promoted the importance of positive involvement of disconnected fathers in the lives of their children. Available research supports the notion that most of these fathers want to: a) provide an appropriate level of financial support for their children, and b) play an active role in the upbringing of the children.
