The President’s budget also proposes new and sustained funding to support workforce development initiatives including a new Workforce Innovation Fund ($321million), Reintegration of Ex-Offender activities ($98 million), The Green Jobs Innovation fund ($85 million), and The Transitional Jobs Program ($40million). By proposing to equip non-profit organizations, state governments and other entities with resources to provide job-training and other supports for low-income, low-skilled men among others, these initiatives indicate further federal commitment to activities that enhance the ability of all fathers to contribute to the well-being of their children. It is our hope, that on behalf of our nations’ children and families, Congress will approve these budget requests.
