CFUF's Responsible Fatherhood Program is designed to address a critical issue impacting America and compounded in urban communities....Children growing up fatherless.
Low-income fathers face seemingly insurmountable challenges to prevent their children from slipping into negative, risky behaviors. As hard as they may try to do the right thing, they often lack the knowledge and positive social networks necessary to overcome their circumstances to become good fathers, partners and consistent wage earners.
These dads are more likely to have accrued unmanageable child support arrearages, are disproportionately associated with the criminal justice system, have difficulty negotiating the relationships with their children's mothers and frequently have no relationships with their own fathers.
BRFP has designed and implemented a set of core services intended to help low-income fathers to meet their parental responsibilities, obtain and maintain meaningful employment, refrain from criminal behavior and learn what it means to be a good partner and husband. Child Support intervention helps fathers manage their child support cases, so they can maintain a job while repaying child support.
