CFUF’s National Practitioners’ Leadership Institute to provide technical assistance to nonprofits, government agencies after being recognized as national leader in responsible fatherhood and black male achievement work

On Friday, October 12, the Center for Urban Families (CFUF), one of the nation’s leading advocates for responsible fatherhood, will formally launch the National Practitioners’ Leadership Institute (NPLI), a national cohort-based initiative designed to improve outcomes for low-income fathers and families by strengthening the capacity of organizations and government agencies working in the responsible fatherhood, family strengthening and black male achievement fields.

The launch will introduce the first cohort of NPLI’s Leadership Academy, and will include remarks by Joshua DuBois, Director, White House Office of Faith Based Neighborhood Partnership; Sherrie Deans, Executive Director, Admiral Center; and Shawn Dove, Campaign Manager, Open Society Foundations Campaign for Black Male Achievement. The day-long event will be held at CFUF’s headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.

“Center for Urban Families is delighted to be able to further our vision by bringing together our expertise in service-based training and technical assistance in a formalized process that will aid organizations at a national level,” said James Worthy, Director of Training and Technical Assistance at Center for Urban Families.
